I expect, depending on the size of some of these import/export outfits, it would be very difficult to keep every single/box or cab in perfect storage conditions. Even a large walk in has high/low/moist/dry areas. Then there's the time it takes to ship stuff around the world in containers. Are they humidified? Probably not would be my guestimate.

I know, I know. I reckon it was not the best off the bush mate. I expect that's the way it goes?

I say this because when I bought the cuesta rey last month I sparked one up the very next day and it tasted shite, I didn't smoke another one for about a week and every cuesta rey since, just seems to taste better and better.
I found this out the hard way. Always let them sit at least 2 weeks. 3 months is better though.

reviving an old thread - but with a different angle ..

what makes this Robusto so darn expensive? is it because of popularity? I've got a couple of 'em resting in my humidor and would like to get a couple more, but the price always make me buy something else I know I'll enjoy .. I smoked three so far, and they were quite good, but I can't, for the life of me, think of anything that makes them worth that much more (other than they are hyped and popular ..)?

            - or is it just me?

That's what I want to know. Someone please explain what the big deal is.

Not had one yet; always buy the lanceros over the coro since the price is similar.

                  IMO

Trini T is certainly a supreme smoke, and while I still think that the Cohiba Robusto is overpriced; when you do smoke a good one then they are very difficult to beat IMO.
