  • Sanchos and HDM

    Guys

Hope someone can help on this. Bought 5 sanchos the other day in individual boxes and upon opening noticed a little difference.. Can you spot it??

Very odd to find a cedar liner with HDM stamped on it. I called my supplier who was surprised but would look into it. He's just called me back to advise HDM did a limited run from 2001 and this was likely one of them?

Did a few searches but came up with nothing!

    Any thoughts?

Haha. Mitch would not be best pleased if one of his staff did that. I think the liner is from a HdM Particulares, someone has possible been showing cigars to a customer and put the liners back incorrectly.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

Well its a liner from the HdM Particulares 2000ish to 2002ish.

Either the retailer got them mixed up when opening, checking, showing the sticks or it happened factory side (more likely if these are somewhere between 2000 and 2003).

If one wanted to be sinister you could suggest the retailer has possibly been playing 'swap the bands' and slipped up. The Sancho's sell but the Hoyo's are dead as a smoke, and stock. This should be clear when lighting up as the Sanchos have a distinct profile with hints of salt and the Hoyo Particulares distinctly taste of nothing.

      What year are the Sanchos?

            This is a high probability.

So one of the sanchos is a little damaged. Just spoke to supplier who is happy to swap but it will not be easy as he's overseas.. Do you think the cigar will be okay or should I swap??ImageUploadedByTapatalk1360156869.071213.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1360156885.521098.jpg

If it were me I would put a little dab of cigar glue and not worry.

Or you could smoke it from the other end!

Further to Paul's point, the 2002 hoyo particulares were all rolled in la habana provincial factories, same as Sancho panzas. What is your factory code?

Cigar glue or pectin (same as jam making) & it will be fine.
