Deano, I am dealing with it now, should have a result soon. I have been dealing with this retailer for over thirty years, but recently lots of changes have taken place there. I think I will change over to Mitchell's lot in Mayfair.

Give them a call, you know how older retailers are with email - terrible! Send them to this thread too.

I have been in touch with the retailer and sent photos as above. They have not responded. As I am in Berkshire and they are in London, walking in is not an option.Originally posted by Deano View PostSo why phone them?
Phone or walk in to the retailer, I imagine they'll happily replace it.

I have heard this phrase time and time again from UK vendors and others. You really don't have to know where they are to have heard this phrase. I know who the importers are, Frankau's, I wasn't sure where they were located in the UK. I buy my Cuban cigars from UK vendors, not from the importers of Cuban cigars. I would have thought that was obvious.Originally posted by Ryan View PostJust wondering where you heard or read that UK importers get the 'best quality Cuban cigars in the world' if, as you say, you don't know who the importers are?

Originally posted by GFK1 View PostI accept that. However, the UK importers should not keep spreading the myth that they get the best quality Cuban cigars in the world thus implying that cigars bought anywhere else are inferior, which is utter rubbish. I can assure you that I have had one or two dud UK imported cigars before, but at least they were smokable, unlike this horror.Originally posted by GFK1 View PostIf they don't, I will phone the UK importers, whoever they are.

QA fails anywhere once and a while, or something odd has happened at the retailer.

Being in a tube they'd have had to be Superman (and there can't be two of us) to know about the problem. This had nothing to do with where it was bought only where it was produced.

Best to check stuff first though.

I would be very surprised if they did not replace it. Keep us informed.

Give them another go mate... They're astoundingly good. Only a Monte 2 is as good but finding a good Monte 2 can sometimes be a bit of a chore as consistency is an issue for me....Originally posted by GFK1 View PostNo, that's my first Petit Edmundo. But I will try another one soon.
