Do certain brands tend to suffer more than others? I.E Montecristo get guaranteed good stock while Quintero are left wanting?? Or does it not really work that way?

Cuban cigars are unique not because they are grown in good soil but because they are grown in poor soil which stresses the tobacco plant into releasing the excess sugars which govern flavour.

i thought quintero were made from left overs from the other cigars, floor sweepings and such? Or is that a nasty rumour started by guantanamera

the cohiba cigarettes actually have the taste of cohiba to it... with a terrible aftertaste of chemicals though...... :/

Could be. The info I heard is that the rain had damages a lot of the larger leafs meaning a shortage in good quality large size wrapper stock (going into the ageining/curing process this season). Cuba being Cuba means they will use poorer quality leaf rather than turn down the $$'s.

It could also explain why a few people are reporting that the custom rollers are finding it hard to get good tobacco

Nope never works like that though it does tend to be the larger better selling marca's that suffer the most to be honest

dont the brands get the tobacco from different farms, so cohiba tastes like cohiba and so on?
