you say could also taste slight coffee and chocolate.
Definitely got that, mate. I saw these and the Ramon Allones Extra LE 2011 were in the same boat.
They both tasted oddly like Non-Cuban maduros which I normally get aspartame flavours from...
Of the three 2014 LE and the Larranaga RE the Bolivar is certainly the poor relation regarding our sales here. This is a real shame as it is a fantastic cigar and everyone who has smoked them here gives it a real thumbs up. I suspect Bolivar as a brand is always going to struggle in the UK by comparison with the heavyweight brands.
In the 1970's Bolivar was regarded as a 'Bookies cigar' - something you would see at the racetrack. It has never been a prestige brand - but it really does offer something different.
Only just seen this...Interesting Robert. Bolivar are by far my favourite cigars....Funny thinking of them as 'bookies cigars'.
Members that have tried the bolivar super corona L.E 2014
And the bolivar petite belicoso L.E 2009

Petit Belicoso - a year ago was harsh and very, very annoying. Tasted like a non-cuban but 3x more the price.
Super Corona is meh. Okay smoke with good progression. But overall it was just too young to tell.
Better than the Petit Belicoso, though.
I had a petit beli 09 which blew me away, for a little bit. The two thereafter didn't come close. I'm still intrigued by this little pocket rocket... So much so I'd be tempted with a box buy
