Hurumph-Hurumph! This was a promising thread, what with all the interesting puros that some don't care for, but it's gone astray (as per usual) with all the wacky comments and defense of one's preferred stick.

Having said that - first let me just say that it's not uncommon for a not care for the Cohiba line - partly due to the high price and the need for an well-aged one - but as one gets more knowledgeable and comfortable with the price of top-shelf puros, most begin to cum around.

As for what puros I don't particularly enjoy, why that would be the Juan Lopez line. I know it's a vastly popular puro in this neck of the woods, but I just can't seem to find one that I get on with.

But that's just me, no doubt!

Think you could be right big bopper.

Could be worth buying a pack or even a few sticks and letting them sit for a year or two, unless of course can find an older box in a shop somewhere.

I'm with RCH on this, I've tried a range of Montecristo's and can't get along with them.

I wonder on the Cohiba subject if people are disappointed partly because of raised expectations because it is the premium brand?

Also, the rate at which Cohiba stock is turned over means that most will be buying and smoking new sticks. My palate is fairly primitive but even I've noticed a significant improvement between new and aged stock.

I think mine are 2008. Need to update profile. Bit pricy though. May need to sell a couple

I wasn't impressed by the small one that I smoked last year but I am looking forward to the big one that Wigan sent me when the good weather arrives. MLW thought it smelled good and she's a pretty good judge.

I've only had a few smaller vitolas but not enjoyed a Partagas yet and you'll prob think I'm mad but not enjoyed a Trinidad yet either, only had 2 Reyes though.

And so it should have Tony, great cigar, age very well too. PJ, Party And R&J are the two brands with the largest numbers of vitolas so Don't give up on them yet, sure there's one for you out there
