    Ok Aficionados
My son is plashing out on a few singles next month, so asked me to put this question up to see which of the following 2 cigars he should go for.

    H.UPMANN ROBUSTO L.E 2012
    H.UPMANN ROYAL ROBUSTO

Coulden't advice him because haven't tried them myself, but if any member has smoked both would appreciate some feed back on the two.
If on the other hand both are nothing special then he'll spend the money on something else.

Can't answer your question fully as I haven't tried the Royal Robusto, but I'm on my second box of the 2012 L.E. at the moment. Excellent smoke, dark, almost maduro in appearance, consistent medium-full flavour profile edging towards spiciness all the way through.

Haha! Still promoting the Triny Reyes, I see. Time to move on, don't you think?

        Jay, Ray Jay

(Hurumph!) Next he'll be retelling the fantasy about how he discover the super-fine puro.

Haha! No doubt, dawg face...no doubt, indeed!

Thanks bopper for giving me your opinion on the UPMANN L.E 2012
Will wait and see what others that have tried both will say about them and pass on the info to my son
they sound quite nice by what your saying.

The Royal Robusto is pretty damn good in MHO, if H Upmann are what he likes, then he won't go far wrong with an RR.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

Don't think he's tried the upmann brand tippexx.
Young lad that likes to try different brands till he finds the brand he likes .

In which case he might be better to begin his Upmann adventure by trying a Conni 1 and an Upmann No 2.
If you want to, you can.

If that's the case Tony, and he's trying the brand maybe go with the cheapest out the two?

This is odd.... Just a querie: WHy is he dead set on these two cigars and these two alone?

I would personally choose the Robusto LE 2012 over the Royal Robusto. Much underrated and the RR is something I have never gotten along with. Too sweet and somewhat strong for an H. Upmann - not to my tastes.

Perhaps it will have good ageing characteristics. Me? I don't care for it.
The Robusto LE 2012 was a great smoke. Had one a few months ago on the word of an Aussie mate. Brilliant, nonetheless.

Don't know why he thought about them 2 sometimes we go for looks, and what reviews say about the cigars.
