  • Rare Cohiba's being auctioned, anyone feeling flush?

I have been following these for a while, they were at E18,000 last weekend but now sitting at E26,000. For those of you not to hot on maths, that's over ?1,000 per cigar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The organiser has just asked if I am still interested? Any one interested, I could spilt, I'll pay up to the first four puffs on one cigar.

I might be able to afford to sniff your four puffs, if you would allow?

The Embargo came in earlier than this - Cohiba is one of a few brands established after the revolution

Yupp - this seems reasonable for these cigars.

Keep in mind the 2006 Cohiba Behikes have a private market value of around 2000USD. These ultra-super-mega-obliviated-rare cigars should fetch at least twice that. No double the Chinese and "Oilers" are all over these now

Yup market price. I believe The Wellesley have sold over 100 singles to their guests in 2 years. I could be wrong but perhaps ?1500 per stick?

I know it's all a question of perspective, some would baulk at paying ?50 for a stick & I have paid that once. I would go up to ?100 or some for a very rare stick but I can't see how ever much I had spending ?1,000 plus on one. I saw a friend on FB drinking Petrus 1995, on her own, the lowest price I could find was ?1300 a bottle & that was retail, heaven knows what they charger her in a restaurant? BTW Butters, when you say 'Oilers' I trust you were thinking of CEO's of oil companies & not us humble workers who couldn't afford Behikes at UK prices!

                    It's a box of 50 cigars isn't it?
26,000 is on the high side. I suppose a very rich person might buy these to smoke. They might suit somewhere like a high end hotel shop.
For collectors though, it could take a while to get a return on 26,000 for that box.
in the description it says "It was the first brand presence under the brand name ?Cohiba?."
                    No it wasn't. Here's a band from a pre-embargo Cohiba.

Wellesley price currently stands at ?4,500 for a single stick of the original Behike.

I could see the point of owning them if you were a serious collector but can you really imagine that they're worth that much to smoke? I don't think so.
