So let me get this straight...you're the source that came up with the factories code based on your own research. Okay, fair enough. Much better than somebody told another person who posted it somewhere in the interwebs.[SIZE=3][FONT=book antiqua]

Alright then...that's as reliable as any sources I've seen elsewhere. Only thing better, I guess, would be to visit the factories and see the actual codes stamped on the boxes, if that's even possible these days.

I don't think they would let you into those areas, unfortunately. That's what I had originally thought of but I'd imagine those packaging areas would be under tighter security than rolling areas. You can count individual boxes/ bands,. You can't count individual leaves!

I think the El Laguito for best Cohiba thing is a bit of an Urban Myth, but it does satisfy the feeding frenzy of those who like to believe they've got one up on everyone else, though if they could taste a difference I would be very surprised.

Ryan's video illustrated that Cuban cigar workers were happy in their work, not that El Laguito workers were any happier than others, El Laguito was simply where he was. And the idea that El Laguito has all the best rollers is like believing all the best footballers are at Real Madrid, over-simplistic and untrue.

As I understand it, Cuban no longer uses dedicated factory codes and certainly not ones that could be so easily sussed. So in all possibility MEL, BTO etc; are nothing to do with the factories at all.

Do you think the III is the best at the price point or is it just coincidence that it seems to have sold out in a lot of places?

I don't think price point comes into any equation with Cohiba. Coronas Grande is an unusual size, so possibly not many are made .... and if you want to try the size, the Monte Tubos outclasses the Siglo III by miles ... and of course the Hoyo des Dieux is superb too.
