Went to JJ Fox's on Monday for a little look around London and in the end the guy there persuaded me to go for one, so I ended up with a RM H&F 225 and a Montecristo No. 4. Though I noticed that their prices are a bit more expensive in the shop, for example the RM 225 was ?29 and a Monte No. 2 was ?24.50! That's quite a jump from the typical ?18 for a Monte No.2, bit of shame really but it was a nice day out at least
Spoke to three top London Cigar stores on Tuesday this week. All the RA 225 stock has been allocated by H&F and all three had sold all their Cabinets and boxes so if you want to try this cigar I shouldn't hang about. Effectively sold out in one week!
Yeah it's slightly annoying that things are about 20% more in the shop than online but I suppose you're paying the London premium price. We tried to go to Franco's as Nic's video on Youtube suggests but they refused to serve us just for a coffee at lunchtime I'll go back at 10am next time I think.
Btw, what do you guys find is the best cigar shop in London? There's obviously a wide choice down there, i.e. Sautter's, Davidoff, Fox's, CGars, Casa Del Habano; are there any that you find special in particular?
Cheers,
Matt

I do use Fox's & LCDH Teddington, but generally and for convenience of location more than anything else, frequent; Alfie Turmeaus, Sautters & Cigars Unlimited.

To sit in and smoke, I particularly like Sautter's Knightsbridge store which is nice and spacious with plenty of light. Just the place to take a lunch break!
Here's my take for what it's worth (On and in the order of the wonderful Cuban Cigar walk London Audio Guide - Now part of the London Cigar Guide App - Unashamed plug!)
BTW all prices will be more or less the same so I'm not going there!
Alfred Dunhill - Great to sit outside on a summers day (if you can get a chair in the courtyard) Nice humidor
Sautter Mount st - Always a favourite when I did accompanied walks - unreconstructed. Magali is Cuban knows her stuff. If you want a real cigar education sit in there on a Saturday/Sunday with Laurence and the 'pack'
Davidoff - Some people find it a little aloof but the cigars are wonderful. Go and meet Rhys, the young man just joined from Scotland, he is a huge enthusiast and will be happy to show you round.
No 1a St James's St - Very refined, nice humidor, great space, nice seats, good coffee Wifi, Nice
JJ Fox - Currently undergoing huge reconstruction so not at it's best but will be fantastic in about 6 weeks.
Also to be considered:
Turmeus in Sheppard's Market - Small but with a sampling lounge downstairs if you know/ask
Casa in Wardour st - Great crowd, I always meet interesting people when I go there.
Sautter in Knightsbridge - Hidden away behind the Bulgari but a nice spot for a smoke. Central table to chat round. Again, usually with interesting cigar guys to chat to, especially at this time of year with the 'international' crowd in town.
Cigars Unlimited in Fulham - A way out but worth the trip. Wonderfully kept cigars, the Partagas shorts are worth the journey on their own.
La Casa in Teddington - Even further to go but most certainly worth the journey. If you are going all that way take a friend and try to get a session in the lounge (usually members only) but only take cash as you can come out having spent two weeks wages easy. Ajay has some amazing stock.
