Hi, shams as Ranks says keeping a record helps, I have a couple already that I really like and will invest in box's in the future, one being H. Upmann Magnums, and the other Olivia series's mmmmm cigar goodness
Funny that I was looking at the those as a sample the other day....will defiantly try them now!

i think for us newbe the journal is a good reference to go back to before buying the big boxes.
as I will never rember all of what I have smoke unless you get the one that makes you say ou'la la.
Has anybody smoked that ou'la la cigar and what was it.
Hi Ranks. I've had a few like that so far:
Bolivar Belicosos Finos; RyJ Wide Churchill; Arturo Fuente A?ejos Shark 77; Oliva Serie V Melanio Figurado; Padron 1964 Exclusivo and 1926 Belicosos. Looking forward to many more like this. Hope you do too.
Johnny that sounds like a good plan.. And very cost effective.
I still need to sample more variety of Cigars before I'm at the stage of aging...but its good to see how some of you guy are starting this process.
Also I did read somewhere that NC are not worth aging...as they are ready to smoke...is that true? Or that just away for manufacturer to sell more?

Hi Shamz. One of my favourite brands, Padron (Nicaragua), age all their cigars before they go on to the market. I think it starts at 2 years for the "thousand" series (their standard line) 3 for the "1964" series, 4 for the "1926" series and between 5-10 years on the Family Reserve releases. They're all fantastic smokes IMO. Well worth a try.

Hi gents I am new to cigars and I buy only a few off each to try as there is so many to choose from.
I smoke it,then write a bit about it Ie taste how smooth it smokes and if I get a nic Rush then I score it out of ten, don't now if this the right way but it seem right to me.wouldn't want to buy a box to have to try and get rid off.i would love to get to the stage off been able to buy a box to put down to age but that seems a long way away.
Lol yep me about 18/24months ago now storage space at a premium

You're opening up a can of worms there, the general consensus is that most NCs don't age in the way CCs do but a few on here feel this is not correct and at least some lines do age well
Personally I think whether an NC ages well or not is irrelevant - it still won't compare to a Cuban!
Madre de dios..!!!
You'll be starting a war with talk like that.
(Whispers - 'Bravo Sir..! Those N.C. lovers can just suck 'em..! Viva la Cubans..!')
