  • 2018 releases

Found this while surfing the interweb this morning. A few interesting 2018 releases, looking forward to a few of them.

It's interesting that 5th Avenue upped production to 10000 boxes for the 2018 RE. Pretty understandable though since the Boli Tesoro flew off the shelves when it was released.

Looking forward to the Hoyo Escogidos and the San Cristobal Prado.

A little sad to see that the HU LE will come in 25 count boxes. I like 10 count boxes RE's more since I like to go for 2 boxes. 2 25 count boxes will be expensive.

Great find! Really interested in the Hoyo and the Upmann one's!

    Copied some more information from:
    HTML Code:
    http://halfwheel.com/2018-habanos-release-list-emerges/212017

It?s consistent with a few things we already know. Habanos S.A. announced that Cohiba would be featured at the XX Festival del Habano, which begins in late February. The annual festival is the time in which Habanos shows off its new releases for the year.
One of which will be a Cohiba Reserva, which according to the list will be the Cohiba Robusto Reserva Cosecha 2004 (4 7/8 x 50). It will be packaged in 5,000 numbered boxes of 20 cigars.
Habanos has also already announced the Partag?s Maduro Linea, i.e. Partag?s Maduro line, would be featured at the festival.
According to the leaked list, there will be two new vitolas joining the Maduro No.1.
    • Partag?s Maduro No.1 (5 1/8 x 52) ? Boxes of 25
    • Partag?s Maduro No.2 (4 3/4 x 55 pir?mides) ? Boxes of 25
    • Partag?s Maduro No.3 (5 3/4 x 50) ? Boxes of 25

Montecristo has been selected for the next Colecci?n Habanos release. The 20-count books will contain Gran Pir?mides, a 6 3/10 x 57 belicoso.
The three Edici?n Limitada releases are:
    • Romeo y Julieta Tacos Edici?n Limitada 2018 (6 6/10 x 49)
    • H. Upmann Propios Edici?n Limitada 2018 (4 3/4 x 46)
    • Bol?var Soberanos Edici?n Limitada 2018 (5 1/2 x 54)

The Romeo y Julieta and H. Upmann will come in boxes of 25, while the Bol?var is packaged in boxes of 10.
A special release will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Habanos festival. It?s called the 20 Aniversario Festival del Habano, which is expected to contain 100 cigars and limited to 450 pieces.
Ram?n Allones will receive a limited release, called the Emperadores Extra. It uses the popular 109 format, a 7 1/4 x 49 Churchill extra with a rounded cap. It will come in boxes of 50, though it?s unknown how limited production will be.
Hoyo de Monterrey will receive a new vitola named La Hoyo de Rio Seco, a 5 1/2 x 46 cigar offered in three-count tubos, 10-count boxes and 25-count boxes.
The Vegueros Centros Finos measures 5 1/8 x 50 and will be offered in four-count cartons and 16-count metal boxes.
Both the Hoyo de Monterrey and Vegueros are regular production items.
La Casa del Habano franchises will receive the Hoyo de Monterrey Escodigos, a 7 1/11 x 49 cigar packaged in 10-count boxes.
The San Cristobal de la Habana Prado is also limited, though it?s unclear who will receive the 5 x 50 release.
Duty-free markets will receive the Montecristo Double Edmundo in 10-count travel humidors.
Finally, the Punch Preferidos (5 1/8 x 55) will be the German Edici?n Regional for 2018. It is expected to be limited to 10,000 boxes of 10 cigars.
Only the impossible is worth the effort.

Interesting that there are only 3 releases with a less than 50 RG. It will be interesting to see how many there will be once we know about the other RE's. I don't mind to smoke big cigars, there are even some that I love to smoke on a regular basis but it would be great if they could release a new skinny in the future since they discontinued most of them.

Yes, i was kind of hoping for another skinny Hoyo since a lot of them have been culled over the years! Great to see they have another regular production smoke though; it's a Marca i cannot get enough of, and with it being a regular production smoke hopefully the price will not be as high

Yeah it's going to be a 56 RG though. Do we really need that one? We already have the de San Juan.

That's a very good point - though i do really like the San Juan. Be interested how the tastes notes compare.

I like the San Juan as well. I'm still more looking forward to the Hoyo Escogidos even though it will probably be nothing more then a shorter double corona. The San Cristobal Prado and the HU Propios are definitely the other two most interesting new release in my book.

Both are 2017 LE's, so they should hit the market in the next quarter I would say.

RA ER 109's will be the star IMHO; in a 50 cab box that's gonna be expensive but worth a group split, if enough interest?

Agree with Simon's comments but would also like to try the Partagas no.2 pyramid. Actually, I'd like to try them all!

I'm sure that they will be nice but am a little afraid of the price tag. Those special release humidit? are generally pretty expensive if you can get your hands on one.
