In its very definition, eg Cognac must come from the Cognac region of France, Champagne from the Champagne region, Scotch Whisky from Scotland etc, Ergo, Cuban cigars must be manufactured in Cuba.

Whether the tobacco originated in Cuba is of no consequence, it has not been manufactured in Cuba, so cannot be sold as a Cuban cigar.

I had one from luxsuk which was from 2001 I think? Was pleasantly fruity, but I only had the one so who knows.

I've not been into cigars long enough to really make any recommendations myself but you might find this link from cgars interesting.

Not at all, indeed I have had freshly rolled cigars from a shop, rolled by a Cuban torcedor on a demo tour of the UK, obviously using Cuban tobacco, and they were fantastic, very peppery.

Unfortunately H&F haven't directed any of the visiting torcedors north of the border since. They appear to be only going to the London establishments. It seems H&F are only interested in the London market.

Well, that may be true, senor RokKracker, but too much sun also causes heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and sunburn, not to mention an uncontrollable desire to eat dinner at 4pm and participate in a Bingo marathon!

Exactly! I had the same experience with freshly rolled puros. I have a few aging in my humi that I picked up in the Carribean last Spring, but didn't smoke right away, so I'll let them settle down for a year or so before I spark one up again!

a punch DC, lusitania and bolivar gigantes

all aged, i believe all from 97, definitely the punch & bolivar
im pretty much sold on the hoyo DCs, tomorrow i will try the lusitania!

THe HdM DC has been getting a lot of good press, lately. I will have to try one sometime and judge for myself.

Nice score on the '07s! Always nice to pick up puros with some age on 'em.
