LFDC is indeed a budget stick but the selectos is the best of them imo. to be fair they are not a bad smoke, whilst not overly complex they are a fine stick to give to mates who have'nt got a clue if a good cuban slapped them about the mush with a soggy kipper.

Nice PLPCs! I had one yesterday...

I agree with the guys above about the FdCs. I bought a load a while back for when I'm wasted and for giving out to those who don't know any better. I find them quite mild with the slightest hint of chocolate. Burn is good and they burn quick cos they're machine-made. Only cut the slightest bit off otherwise your mouth will be full of bits.

One for the end of the night in the pub.

          Great PC the Larranaga IMO...

When you get a good one, damn it's good...

I've put them in a tuppedor at the mo.
They seem to be really dry and quite brittle.
think I'll have to give them some time.

I had a couple of these over xmas that i bought as part of a Cuban Sampler pack of 24 different sticks, it was the first i tried and then left the second till last i was so unimpressed, i found it to be quite mild but very bitter towards the end, not sure what flavours came accross, im not sure if the cigar was confused or if i was.

I have had some really good PLPC's but I found that they need a little time to develop. I have never had any luck with the younger ones as they tend to be on the bitter side as mentioned.

Love the PLPC's with a little age. What is the date on them?

Maybe why they're only sold in 50's ..... gives 'en that bit of extra time.

They were also available in 25 count dress boxes, in some countries, until 2002.
I have had 2 boxes from 2001, bought in Andorra; they were much milder than those in cabinet and needed less aging time.

                            EMA Sept 08.
I'm going to let them rest for a while. they're quite dry.

PLPC's need at least 4 years to truly emerge in my opinion.

Fresh, they exhibit that anise young tobacco flavors. As they age, they develop that signature woodyness and caramel character.

                              Of course, YMMV...
