  • cuaba salomones????

    hey all,
i'd love to know what everyone here thinks of the cuaba salomone cigar? i was checking it out recently in belfast (it's the only one they have as a single) and would love to try it........but first would like to hear the opinions of those of you who have tried it? i'm sure it's not as nice as the partagas or bolivar salomone..........but it's all that's on offer here!!!

    cheers,

    alex

I found them to be not as complex as I prefer. Of the two I have had I felt that the older one was much better than the younger. If it is an aged cigar of say over 4 or 5 years then I think you will enjoy it.

As I said though, you may come away from it thinking it was a little bland perhaps, pleasant enough but almost a non-event as such.

It's not a stick I would have regularly.

These are the rankings Alex. The Salomones is only topped by LE's. I've got one in the humi for some special occassion but I've never smoked one. Other Cuaba's I have smoked I've found to be excellent. The Divinos is every bit a match for a Trinni Reyes for example.
If you want to, you can.

They're just like smoking a big Cuaba, that's it really. Cool to kick back and watch a film with imo

Alex, I'd second the Cuaba Divinos, they're a great little cigar, however, went into Miss Moran about 2 or 3 weeks ago looking for a couple, but they didn't have any and the women behind the counter said they probably won't be getting anymore in, why I don't know?

              cheers guys,
i've tried pretty much singles of the other cuabas, the traditionales (being a favourite of mine), divinos, exclusivos, piramide EL 2008........ i like the taste profile and the rustic look and feel of them!!! i just fancied getting something a little bigger for a change, and we're not as fortunate as the rest of you who can pop into the la casa in soho, or wherever else you have the luxury of a decent selection of habanos..........

gary, i was in miss moran's a week or so ago, thought the selection was pretty poor and pricey (plenty of EL's)!!! i wanted to try a bolivar belicosos finos and an h upmann connie no.1, but there was none!!! i dropped a few hints hoping she'd get the idea and say something like "maybe in a week or two's time", but no.......she made it clear it wouldn't happen!!! she then tried to flogg me the punch d'oro UK RE (at ?22, i think not)!!! it was then i saw the cuaba salomone, and it's beeen lingering in my head since.......

              all the best,

              alex

Just had my first Cuaba ever yesterday. It was a Salamones from 2003 (this was the original release, actually limited but it then went into regular production and made from 3 year old leaves). It blew my mind, best smoke I have had in ages, so good I spontaneously bought a box!!

Not cheap but fantastic, if you want to give one a go call Jean at Fox's in London. She had 8 boxes a month ago when they cracked them out of storage, she has 3 boxes left.
