Met up with a guitarist acquaintance yesterday and he handed me a Cohiba Robusto and a couple of what I think are El Rey Del Mundo Robustos.
He knows I'm partial and he has given up smoking.
I've just smoked one of the El Rey Del Mundos. My very first El Ray.
What a great smoke!
No long review, but what started off to me as a very mild smoke developed in the second third into a full-bodied taste that I'd compare to the peppery strength of a ripe D4.
I love to discover new punchy cigars, and this discovery was quite by chance.
Just wondered if anyone is a fan of this brand and if you could offer further recommendations...
Cheers.

I think you would tire of them if smoked too often, as the flavour profile is pretty static, but if your in the mood for a mellow smoke then they are just the ticket on a lazy afternoon/evening with a light drink (white wine, light beer/larger, nothing too flavourful as it would drown out the finer points of a Choix supreme)
Just goes to show, take nothing on trust and try for yourself!
serious and I were gifted a 15 year old El Rey Del Mundo Choix Supreme at Sautters during the inaugural London Puro
Walk in March 2009.
