  • Fresh box of cigars

Received a box of RyJ MF from September this year. Was a bit disappointed to be honest but the cigars look good and no unpleasant aromas. Has anyone else seen boxes this fresh lately? Can anyone beat September?!

3 months isn't uncommon these days, certainly not in Antwerp. I think the current reported shortages are just meaning, it's straight of the shelf & exported. One bonus if you like fresh cigars you can smoke them now, before any sick period or wait a year if you prefer. As it says inside the RG boxes

Will definitely try one as it will be the freshest I’ve smoked and I’m interested to see the difference

Probably will be good that fresh, then they will close down for a year or two before starting to smoke well again.

Yeah! How can you be upset ? You just got a box of cigars!

Let your nose be your guide. Unless you've got enough stuff to just throw it in the back and get back to it in a few years.

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

Very true Banos… these were always destined for a long sleep anyway

This month's COTM was pretty fresh, not quite that fresh though.

I’m definitely a fan of fresh cigars. The last third tends to get a bit hot and bitter but I enjoy the vibrancy.

The best cigar I’ve ever smoked was a 15ish year old P2 from
Simon Bolivar, the individual flavours were very pronounced, it was smooth as butter.

I think anything around the 2 year mark is generally the worst in my limited experience. Not in all instances but a lot of my stock is 2018/19 and the 18’s I’ve had recently have all been much better recently.

Exceptions to every rule of course but as I say, that’s what I’ve found in my short time enjoying them

I am honoured to have shared that smoke with you, let's hope we can meet up again & share something else as delicious.
