After a month's abstinence, being unwell for the first 2/52, I had my first smoke at my Mother's 85th B/D afternoon tea at Tnyley Hall in Rotherwick. This lovely old house has a long association for me as I first went there circa '88 & proposed to my wife there Dec '90. See photos attached. 1st self take in our room, 2nd taken by another diner, just after my proposal &presenting the ring. He took it on his own volition &offered to send it to us. Turned up 3yrs later, when he re-discovered our address.
I took my best man there & after a black tie dinner, we retired to the Library; with a bottle of vintage Warre's, a thermos of coffee & were left alone to finish them off, whilst smoking a pair of R&J Tubed Curchills. Wish I had a photo of that evening.
Last Fri a modest HUHC, smoked on the terrace with coffee, long enough to enjoy, not so long as to bore the wife.
