  • Open slam launching in the UK this weekend

New cigar launching in the UK this weekend! How exciting!

Any guesses on pricing? I reckon around 45£

The Open Slam is the fourth golf-themed release for the Montecristo Open series. It's the first time Habanos S.A. has released a cigar in this 5 3/5 (142mm) x 52 parejo vitola.

Montecristo have been getting a really raw deal on banding recently.

This combines the worst aspects of the open series and wide edmundos IMO

I don't love the WE band either. I get that it has Monte's yellow colour scheme but it looks wrong

I quite like the band, the second band not so much. Might try one. I've always avoided them due to reputation but remember enjoying the couple I've tried.

Don't like then ame either, I appreciate Slam is a golfing term but asking for a couple of Slam's could go badly wrong!

I've always enjoyed the Open range despite not liking golf.

                  Golf?!

I always thought it was a tennis thing 😳

It's both. More even. Where there are multiple global tournaments. Winning them all is a grand slam!

I don't think you have 'eagles' in tennis

I always thought the open range was below mediocre. I imagine I won’t bother trying it.

It was originally advertised as a milder Monte, where as later, the 1935 Series was a richer Monte. Although I pride myself in enjoying a wide range of Cuban Marca's, vitolas & strengths, I have never felt the need for a 'milder Monte.' And smoking outside (i.e. playing golf), one would want a stronger smoke not milder, the idea after all of R&J's Cazadores . Unless you're just trying to impress the Boss your playing with!

From all the reception here sounds like one wouldn't be impressing anyone waving these around!

I’d rather have existing regular production cigars be made more available instead of new releases
