Encyclopaedia entry? Simon probably has some in his voluminous collection.

Aye, there is an entry under Cabanos, for a Belvedere 's type formate & a very large format. They were a pre-rev brand of good quality. I have smoked a few from auction & they smoked well, no doubt much better back in their day.

I've got a box of pre-embargo Partagas. I think they were dated to 1930s I'll dig them out and take a photo.
The box has definitely seen better days, the cigars still have a really nice aroma to them.
