A Cgars employee admitted to de-plooming Cuban cigars, so even their humidors struggle to prevent mould, oh Plume I mean. Wonder if the blog post was seen by anyone before it was posted as surely if plume was a good thing, you wouldn’t need to de-ploom

First forget the plume thing - it's been discussed over and over, it's mold.
Seems to be an increasing problem, at least I haven't seen so much mold as in recent years and recent ER's.
Especially in Switzerland and Italy. In Italy it's very obvious that it's the distributor (Daidema SPA's) problem. Boxes arrive at BMs prettty moldy.
In Switzerland I'm not sure but at least one very reputable BM has a mold problem in their storage.
So check your boxes and let them know.

I blame global warming! Sure it's the rise in background humidity = for mould to grow it needs higher than 65%. You can get spots of it around that but go to the infamous 70/70%, you'll get a lot more. Check monthly & brush off at the first sign & it's never be a problem. Grem/blue mould is a different story & any mould that doesn't brush off is bad news.
