Wow, I have just smoked my VR from the Boisdale event. What a superb cigar! Am certainly going to be trying to afford a box of these in the near future. But can anyone point me in the right direction of comparable cigars? If I liked a VR, I would probably also like...?

Am very new to cigars, so finding my own taste is all a bit of a learning curve to be honest. Would very much value your thoughts.

    Thx

Hi Scruffy, VR Famosas are one of my "always have a box of these smokes in the humi" choices. If you like them, try the Ramon Allones Specially Selected. What size was the VR from the event?

Barney, thanks mate - I will look up your suggestion right now. Think it was a Lonsdale - although, VR calls it something else. Really blew my mind: whole new cigar taste experience. Could get quite poetic in fact... but won't you'll be glad to hear

Hi Scruffy, Interesting to see Big Barneys link, haven't there for a while now. See they give the Classico 84pts, I give it 88; a fine smoke as you have discovered. The D.A. is a similar strength, the Unicos is full. Here one I picked up at the Robaina farm from one of the workers, notice the unusual finish.

Barney, exactly that - delighted to learn that others enjoy it so much as well.

Simon, I will look your review up - be interested to read your comments too.

Just delighted to have been introduced to this cigar so early on, as a cigar newbie.

I really like the Unicos but not tried any of their other vitolas, may have to hunt down some singles

Really would Styler. I don't claim to be an aficionado - but they're darn good! Just need them to be on offer somewhere to make them affordable as a regular choice.

I have to be yet another person to say this cigar from Boisdale really was something very special, and deserves the selecci?n orchant band in every way!

Maybe he'll hear our cries and put them as the deal of the week again?

Love the taste of the clasicos, some very good memories but not had one for a long time as it seemed i was always getting ones with a very tight draw. Will have to try one again now. Cheers.

In my opinion the closest match to the Vegas Robaina Clasicos is the Montecristo No. 1. Both personal favourites of mine too.

Superb, thanks for the pointer - I'll try a Monte No 1 next.
