I first heard it when I saw The Wall movie so I'm surprised it ended up shoe-horned onto TFC. Beautiful song though but definitely shouldn't be on TFC

      .... there's a wall movie? really?

i'm less surprised but disappointed. it was about his dad, too. ah well, we all have free choice. and i choose to banish that track from my mind and ears!
honestly, The Final Cut was conceived out of Water's urge to be a complete asshole. but i do enjoy the conflicting political messages that continuously battle in the album. and the fact that his dad isn't mentioned once

PS. if you want that album, let me know and i'll MediaFire it over to you

I've got the original vinyl from when it was launched.... Probably in the attic somewhere. Still love it to this day. An unsung masterpiece

Did you like the film? There are some great re-recordings on there such as MOTHER and YOUNG LUST. Great stuff

It stars Bob Geldoff no less, its not bad but I would choose listening to the album over watching the film every time

I DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS ONE!!!
but given Sean's review, it won't get watched anytime soon.

I'll place the priority of watching it just under the Toxic Avenger

The film is quite out-there with some insane visuals and animation but definitely worth seeing if you're a fan

He's great in the film though.... Mind you, I was and still am a big Boomtown Rats fan. Rat Trap was the first single I bought and Tonic For The Troops was my first album lol

They did something other than the Monday song? And dictating to the world what they should be doing?

Ok I will back away from this conversation before it goes sour. Lol

Looks like I missed out on a rock discussion thread involving Led Zep and Black Sabbath whilst I've been away. That's a disappointment...

                              I have to say
                              1) Dark Side of the Moon
                              2) The Wall
                              3) Wish You Were Here

                              No great surprises here.

Man I'm burning another copy of Dark Side of the Moon for my drive to work.

no worries.... it got kinda weird after that

On another note: been playing this for the past 2 hours. i like the imagery and masterfulness of the words. also they way they're sung to emphasise shit
(way to define "song," Jeremy )
