Sorry to hear it fell through, though if it was me living up there that close to Islay I would be dead within a year from liver failure

? Are you sure Dean, I think I would know about it?Originally posted by Deano View PostOh well at least Puff got a new recruit out of it

The Island is in the Firth of Clyde Deano, Glasgow would have been in easy reach. Possibly explains some of the reason why the people with the job don't want to leave it.

As a Canadian, I don't know much of Scotland's Geography however the Isle of Arran is the 7th largest in Scotland.Originally posted by AlexG View Postdid mean Isle of Arran.
Reason I know the 7th largest and not the first, second, or tenth is because they make a terrific Lowland Single Malt. One of the best Cask strengths i've ever had. That's all i know

God I know nothing of it, I hope you enjoy it, sounds amazing to go to a remote place in the middle of nowhere and become part of a tiny community!

Wild and beautiful place, famous for a type of wool used primarily for sweaters, so sheep probably outnumber the five or so thousand people that live there. On the plus side there's a distillery at Lochranza and for a not too large island the place has 15 pubs and some 45 restaurants .... so the job might be well worth the considering.Originally posted by AlexG View Postbit hesitant to take a job on an island, does anyone know if it is a good place to be? Lots to do, people to see?
