yea, a bunch of yanks are up in arms about it, loving it or hating it.. And for some forsaken reason, they're complaining about genderising the baby saying that: "you should've give it a gender yet, because not everyone's gender is representative of what your genitals say." yea. i couldn't believe it either.

Frankly, i don't give two levitating shites about it anymore.. the constant bombardements of comments on the baby (most of them dealing with the gender) are just working up my blood pressure and shortening my life.....

I'm a huge Royalist (in much the same argument as Churchill's for democracy... it's the least worst...) Actually, a little unfair, as I argue for Constitutional Monarchy as much as I argue against republicanism - the idea of a political head of state I find to be a horrifying prospect.

However, I despise the celebrity-ising of the Royals that the media (around the world) has developed. I give not two hoots about how long she's been in labour, what dress who's wearing etc etc. (Then again, I despise the whole celebrity thing anyway...) Of even less interest to me has been seeing hysteria on TV from people who really should get a life... (I mean, seriously... You're "EXCITED"!!!??? The parents might be excited, but you are merely interested, surely? If you really are excited, I feel terribly sorry for the sad, uneventful life you live...)

WHY, I therefore ask... during a period with some fairly tasty REAL news stories about the place, are we wasting so much time on our news programmes and channels on this story? Let's be honest, it's glorified National Enquiry stuff - just with people who serve their country, rather than their ego...

I am pro-royal as I like tradition/history and you can't replace it once it's gone.

It is an interesting dichotomy on how hard the US fought for independence and yet have such love for the Royals.

Interesting, I'm thinking you, or most of you love visiting Germany (I know I do) but you fought so hard to not become part of them and that was a lot more recent than us fighting for our independence.
