Drink does keep me awake though.

At the moment, I'm waking up at 4a.m. every morning, 'coz my 2 year old Charlie is waking up then and screaming the place down. He's like a bl**dy alarm clock! He wakes his brother up, then we are all in for it. Sometimes, as I get up at 5.45, I just don't bother going back to sleep. It's why I'm permanently knackered at the moment, and not generally thinking too straight.

Maybe I could get Charlie smoking a stogie, induce some calm in him, then we'd all sleep better? What would be the right size for a 2 year old - demitasse, corono junior? Or maybe straight into the Churchills?

    I can just picture that!!

Straight in with a churchill & a glass of malt should do the trick

I think we've got one up on a lot of folk who haven't realised that.

I also love smoking cigars very quietly on my own. Enjoying my own company with the aroma and the taste. I love getting lost in the clouds of beautiful smoke.

Just very calm, relaxed time. Re-charging the batteries.

Jeez. I sound like a poet!

    One other thing.

Do you get a good night's sleep after a good cigar? I am a very light sleeper. I don't smoke every night - I don't smoke every day.

I read that cigars were supposed to stimulate you. Paradoxically, I have deep, calm sleep after, say, a good Partagas. Just wondered how it is for your guys.

For someone who would have called himself an insomniac once, this is so cool!

    Purely intentional, chaps!

I like mucking about. In fact we've just been down to the cliffs above Dover Docks to film some stogie-related nuttery which will probably go on here.

I've got bollock cheeks which suit a cigar.

And I feel relaxed with one on the go. I'm sure you folks do, too.

This was in Normandy in France when we were on holiday in August.

It wasn't hot - and that's why I prefer to head for the south of France.

I could only get a dep keys player into the band for one weekend, so we had to rush because we've always got gigs.

I've smoked enough around my wife and boys for it not to elicit comment any more, and that's just how I like it!
