If the politicians want to close the loopholes they can, Christ you have to tell the tax man how your doing it.

I'd be happy with an efficient taxman. I have a wage and a pension and I'm still paying them back three grand because they fucked up three years ago. And they get my tax wrong every single year.Originally posted by Sligub View PostSee I disagree, if someone came to me and said I could LEGALLY cut my tax bill in half I would be asking where to sign and I think most on here would too.

amazing how the DM can always find a Asian to pick on.Originally posted by PeeJay View Post
someone has to provide housing for the people on welfare and it's not the landlords fault that they have to take the rent from the welfare system.

Well pointed out Sir....the DM failed to point out though, that the said Asian has been a supporter of both Labour & Conservative...when it suited him financially.....so, obviously he's as neutral as the DM itself...Originally posted by cigarmo View Postamazing how the DM can always find a Asian to pick on.

Couldn't agree more, this is exactly the attitude everyone should have when looking for work, there is no job beneath anyone if they can't find a 'better' oneOriginally posted by Sean View PostIf i lost my job i would be right down to mcdonalds or subway or anywere like am not proud i will work anywere than having to depend on dole money.
While I completely agree with having a system to support anyone out of work, it should support them find a job, unfortunately the current system means that it often pays more to not work than work in a low paid job (when my brother was looking for work a few years ago this is exactly what happened to him, but he chose to work)
The general attitude towards it from the job centre doesn't help matters, my sister-in-law went into the job centre after she lost her job a year or so ago to get help finding another job, and they wouldn't do anything until she had filled out the benefits claim forms and submitted them (she had no intention of claiming benefits, all she wanted wanted was help getting another job), her claim was rejected and she ended up finding a cleaning job without any help from them. I couldn't believe that they were forcing her to claim benefits before they would help!

That's a choice we each must make whether to be legal or whether to be moral.Originally posted by Sligub View PostSee I disagree, if someone came to me and said I could LEGALLY cut my tax bill in half I would be asking where to sign and I think most on here would too.

The problem with any system is people will learn to bend it to their will be it benefit system or tax system.
I would be happy to see both system shaken up and made fairer.

I would be amazed if anyone on here has never avoided tax at some point, be it duty, Vat, paid in cash for a discount, got paid in cash, didn't pay the poll tax and countless more that everyone does. Are these choices immoral as well as illegal?Originally posted by Joncon View PostThat's a choice we each must make whether to be legal or whether to be moral.

I'm most bothered about the blatant disregard of theft laws.... It's an example of complete contempt for the majority of society and an insight into a discusting attitude that a certain few have that hold the belief they are owed anything that want without putting an ounce of honest work towards it.
Anybody that supports this attitude by buying shady goods is just as bad.Licky Licky before Sticky Sticky. - Puff Scotty 22/03/14
