Even though I don't smoke that much I've made some good friends from cigar forums. I enjoy the online chat and discussion of not just cigars but other topics as well.

Must admit I don't think I have much to contribute when it comes to expensive Cubans as my budget doesn't and won't ever stretch that far.

That's the joy of this hobby, some of the best cubans are at the cheaper end of the price range

I suspect that perhaps folk either find a cigar friend and don't need to find anyone to talk about it with or they are busy and forget about it. Some people may find the forums daunting and feel they have nothing to contribute. Who knows

The forum is nicely alive

Cigars are a hobby (obsessive yes) and as such peoples interests go up and down, I for one am a member on a variety of forums from cooking, drink, golf, motorcycle racing etc and when closer to home issues arise then leisure/hobby activites are the first to be curtailed. Also when your interest in cigars wanes then a wee break is sometimes perfect to rekindle the passion.

It is nice to pop back after a few weeks away to see a deluge of interesting, diverse threads with top banter

I have a month or so off here and there when I lose interest in cigars for a small period. It's a bit weird for a huge regular poster to just dissappear (without a falling out or something) but it does seem to happen! Just have to get on with making friends with the new posters!
