• Perfect oskihen!
I am pretty poor at DIY but want to attempt a mini refurb on my new humidor.

the blocks in the middle of the bottom layer I want to remove, cut down, and place in the corners to create more space in the middle. They are currently glued down - how would be the best way to lift them without buggering the base?

Cheers , Dan

• You want a decent sharp wood chisel and chisel them to off about 1/5 mm above then sand the remainder down , you may be able to just snap them off and sand the glue off , but dint out too much pressure on it , modern glues can be stronger than the wood it self and will rip the cedar below .

Thanks Osk, that's pretty much what I though. Gonna sand the whole bottom as it's a bit water stained anyway. Will post a pic when it's done

• I've been thinking about this and if you cut a piece of wood slightly longer than the gap between each pair ,so you can lay it diagonally just inside and hammer it in hopefully you'll break the glue joint but don't be too forceful just keep taping

Thanks buddy!

Would PVA be suitable to re-glue them down in the corners?

• Wood glue will be fine make sure you don't overdue it and get a really tight join

Why you want them back? Are they supports are seperations?

• Just knocked this up - drilled a set of holes 1/8" into a clean effervescent tablet tube.

Filled it with hydrated crystals, and it's keeping a good 68%rh in my jareador. Cost about 5p to make, so a nice bargain until the boveda arrive!

Thanks Obi Wan. I just didn't see the point in spending extra cash on a DryMistat which I could spend on a nice cigar, so gave this a try. So far so good!

defo need a new hygrometer now though. My analogue one is poop. Has any one tried the cheaply ones on eBay? Ie http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...d=111584365977
