You obviously haven't seen me in full flow yet. I have seen a page full of my avatar, talking crap as usual.

If you look at the handle you will see that it is hollow, the base of the knot doesn't get pushed all the down into to bottom , it need sto be supported in some way. A stack of pennies allow a shelf to built to the correct height meaning the correct amount of bristles stick out.

The pennies have the added bonus of providing some heft as the handle is plastic and doesn't weigh much at all.

          Cheers.

Hi guys something Cigar related today. After a good night out last night I decided to spend some time in the man cave.

            This is the result:

            ImageUploadedByTapatalk1433337570.135109.jpg

I had a go at a bullet casing punch, taped up the casing and popped it in the cordless drill then in the vice. A bit of work with a file and sharpening stone and it was good to go.

Unfortunately it was a bit big for my Cigar and kind of tore up the end so I had to resort to a kitchen knife (not got a cutter yet). However I will get another file and try on some other casings.

In any case, I'm enjoying sitting with a Coffee having a smoke.

            Cheers.

            • No cutter! They practically give them away in cigar shops

I know I'm an idiot! In the shop yesterday and it never crossed my mind!
One is now winging it's way to me as I type. eBay is my friend.

                    Nice one!
If you intend to board a plane with that, just take a regular punch!

                      • Another bit of repurposing to share.
A while back I picked up some wooden pallets for firewood and when I was breaking them up realised one of the bigger bits was quite a bit heavier than the others and wasn't the usual pine type of wood.
I cut a piece off and had a go at a Cigar rest, three costs of Danish oil and a light polish with a microfibre and it looks ok.
I still have no idea what type of wood it is, it has a tight grain and a brown hue.

Even the cabinet has that Cohiba potential with the grills, just asking for black, white, yellow and gold :-)
Nice set up - and lovely guitar!
