Cheers Rob appreciated mate , done a fair bit of slate roofing myself , in my younger days that's all I did roof tiling , always found them a pain in the arse to be honest as you can't easily pull holes out or leave holes out for ease of work .
You are most welcome. Probably a bit different here in Scotland, the slates are nailed straight onto the sarking which gives a nice rigid base and no need to worry about battens.
I've been out the industry for nearly 25 years now but still love to do a bit.

Thank you, I have enjoyed everything posed in this thread but particularly your efforts. I am a time served slater so I appreciate a nice bit of builder work.
Hi guys, I thought I would share a bit of my cigar related repurposing. There is a traditional Tobacconist near me who sells empty cigar boxes for a donation to charity. I picked up these two to see if they would be any good for razor storage.
After stripping the decals from the aging room bid it was evident that the would was of a nice quality, a light sand a several coats of tung oil and it was looking not too bad.
On the inside I used cardboard glue and some black tshirt material, with a relief for the razors.
The Razors are Gillette Fatboys and are in ok condition but still shave well, I'm sure I have a couple more projects to share I just need to locate the pictures.
