Always so sad when people fall to there demons when they think no one cares and life isn't worth living.

Incredibly sad news. Must admit that this was the first time in my adult life that the death of someone I had never met bought a tear to my eye. Such a loss to the world, and in such tragic circumstances. An incredibly talented man.
A very intriguing question. Actually discussed this with a couple of comedians once (we all had depression). Whilst, of course, one shouldn't generalise, the general consensus was that so often it's an attempt at a defence mechanism - if you can make others laugh then they won't see the real hurt within, and maybe, one day, the laughter will infect you too...Originally posted by tommy View PostWhy is it that so many comedians suffer from depression?

Tommy :
Because they start to trivialise fun, laughter, and humour. They take it apart and spend hours figuring it out. Or they're told what 'fun' and 'enjoyment' is by a team of writers.
This ruins it. How can you enjoy life without laughter? Or without fun?
When you dissect a peacock to find out what makes it tick, can you enjoy the beautiful peacock the same way again?

…I'm still really saddened by this…
Reading about him and his past - I never realised how serious his alcohol and drug problem was.
That coupled with several divorces. He took a lot on recently (half a dozen movies on the go) to
try and catch up financially with the costly divorce settlements.
I find it so so sad that such a person would resort to ending their life in such a way.
I pray he's in a better place watching over his loved ones.
