Well been dealing with my motor bike company since the 30th September because my son and I were knocked of the bike while in the lovely area of South london called selhurst
My son had a fractured ankle me just cuts and bruises
Well got the letter today to say that the drivers insurance company has accepted liability for our injuries etc
Just got to wait for the Assessment damage of my bike and how much they are going to offer for personnel injury [emoji1]
Feel a holiday coming on could be Cuba [emoji1]

Hope no lasting damage. May be worth getting advice?

My bro got knocked off his bike many years ago, leg badly broken. Cos he was young (late teens) I'm pretty sure the personal injury bit of the compensation was deliberately left open, i.e. he got a sum paid at the time and then the option of going back in future for further compensation if any further issues. He gets bad leg pains now, 20 yrs on, but eventually agreed full and final settlement a few years ago when doctors said there was no more they can do.

And Cuba? Cuba! Again, not really into bikes either, but kind of understand the love affair some people have with them after watching my brother struggle out of hospital, restore his bike and get back on it as soon as physically possible.

I love bikes and if I had the time and permission er I mean if I wanted one Id be on one like a rat up a drainpipe. I'm assuming that if your talking about a holiday you will get the bike replaced by the insurance and use the personal injury money for the Cuba trip. I only have one question, are you going to take young Tommy along as your personal cigar buyer and fishing partner? Cmon, we could go for the half ton tuna????

Sold mine a couple of years ago. Hard to say if I'll ever return to bikes.
Thank God I rode for around 8 years with just two minor incidents.
A heck of a load of near misses though.

Bike is mainly cosmetic damage got it through its MOT last week ?500
New front brakes and pads new rear tyre weld exhaust and labour etc
Lots of cracks and body damage etc
Bike is a super scooter Burgman AN650 executive
All ok now probably just keep the bike or see what the offer is

Agree with marc they are scary thoughts what can happen with a bike. Main thing wasnt life changing crash and hopefully you get a nice holiday to help with recovery [emoji41][emoji41][emoji41]

Seems you and your son got off lightly, in regards to what of could of been with any bike accident. I take it that you were both wearing the right kit?

I am flatly not allowed to own another motorbike. My fianc? highlighted the two life changing accidents I have had which both were due to fucking motorists not giving way to the right on a roundabout (hit that vehicle, cracked my back on the back box as it hammered into my spine, shattered his wind shield with my helmet and then ended up on the other side of the roundabout and got hit by a Micra....Yes I know...A MICRA! Multiple broken bones and dislocations ). The other was yup once again, another car driver pulling out from behind a car on their side of the road...Had a tank slapper which I could not get back and was thrown off my beautiful GSXR rapidly and to my disappointment. No bones broken, except for the motorists face that I lost the plot on.

I received benefits for both accidents, but they took ages to come through. As has been highlighted by a member or two, depending on the injuries etc, you can recieve multiple payouts depending on how severe the accident was and how life chaging it was.

Relieved that both you and your son are A-OK amigo and you deserve every penny you get compensation wise. My advice, as your bike is still going, take the family to Cuba. Memories like Cuba last a lifetime mon amis
