bit if a long story ...
engineer for an oil company for 30 years ...
retired the month i turned 55 ...
within 2 months i realized i didnt want to be retired ...
so i take contracts with oil companies in the winter now ... work 5 months take 7 months off .
now i do whatever the oil companies want me to do (for 1000$ a day) .

this winter ... working for imperial oil commissioning utilities at kearl oilsands refinery phase II (its in wiki) .

I work for an organisation that is responsible for managing training programmes for doctors after leaving Medical School to eventually become Consultants

Business Development Manager for a large IT company, working in the software division. As of November 1st I have an EMEA (Europe Middle East Africa) role so hope to be passing through lots of airports - I'm thinking duty free cigars.

11 years in the Royal Navy as a logistics officer, including submarine service and working for NATO's HQ in the USA, 1 year in corporate banking (which I hated), then 2 years as a management consultant doing corporate strategy, 2 years as a lobbyist for the insurance industry and now 9 years (and counting) as a freelance management consultant.

After a 10 year break, I rejoined the Navy as a Reservist specialising in information and media operations. It's only 18 days service per year, usually a bit of a laugh, though there's always a risk of mobilisation!
