Ha. Kind of. Actually I used to have a proper office in our third bedroom. That's now a nursery so I had my bureau in the spare room. Now Oscar is moving into that room and Freddie is taking the nursery so I no longer even have somewhere to put my bureau. The need for office space made me decide to do it properly and build a comfy office with a sofa bed etc in the garden. The utility room bit is gonna be really useful for a second freezer, sink and tumble dryer. I'll keep my still and brewing stuff there too.

Does this sudden impetus for building man space have anything to do with your newest bundle of joy effecting your relaxing time?

I agree, those are my favourite two. The first would be first choice as it's the real deal but I'm not ready to buy it yet so I'll miss out.

I really like the looks of the first and last chair. You kind of get that old leather look and feeling which I tend to think goes well with smoke rooms and offices. Regardless of what you chose, it will look good as all options are nice.

Good luck and look forward to the progress.

Jim, I rent too. The building is going to be made as modular panels complete with doors insulation etc then bolted together. I'll take it when I go.

If I had the money for a classic and classy drinking/smoking/relaxing chair, I would be getting an Eames Lounge Chair.

There is only one Egg chair and that's the Arne Jacobsen Egg Chair, his Swan Chair is also beautiful.

Chair number three would require you to shave your head and carry a Persian cat on your lap!

    started a topic Tommy's Safe Haven/Office/Man Cave

    Tommy's Safe Haven/Office/Man Cave

I'm planning a temporary build in the garden, a fully insulated garden room for use as an office and safe haven. I'm going with a sofa bed too so my eldest can use it as a bedroom when she stays. Utility room also to be included. So the man cave is called the office and the distillation room is called the utility room OK! I'm going to post my progress on here, I have all the materials so I just need a few free days now! I know, I should be so lucky!
    Watch this space.

I'm also looking at chairs, I like this 70's egg shape office chair:

New versions are nice but perhaps a little contrived.

And if I have a low desk what about this:

Ok ok I'm getting ahead of myself, when you know me better you'll realise that once I get an idea in my head I run with it. Sometimes at the cost of proper planning[emoji33]

So keep watching this thread for progress, once it's done I'm going to do a humidor cabinet or coolerdor so hopefully this will be an interesting thread.
Working...
