Only seen trailers but seems as if he has resurrected his role from inglorious bastards

      • Just finished watching 'The Longest Day' in three one hour segments because its that long but what a film. Made in 1962 with more stars than the Oscars and heaps of original military vehicles in play this is the best film about D-Day ever - 10/10 - and even in black and white the quality they extracted for the blu ray is amazing.

              • Watched quite a few the last week or so. The stand outs :

                The Babadook - Horror - 6.5/10
Australian made film about an evil spirit who haunts a family home. Story has been done a lot over the years but I really enjoyed this take on it. First film that has genuinely creeped me out in quite some time.

                The Wedding Ringer - Comedy - 6.5/10
Not usually a fan of Kevin Hart but the trailer looked good and the missus wanted to see it. Saw Kaley Cuoco from BBT was in it so I agreed to watched it [emoji6]
Was pleasantly surprised. Story was actually quite good for a comedy and it had a couple of genuine laugh out loud moments.

                Kingsman: Secret Service - Action/Comedy - 8.5/10
Best film I've seen in a long time. Colin Firth and the young lad are just perfect, great chemistry. Perfect balance of comedy and action. From the director/writer of Kick Ass, so if you enjoyed that then you are sure to like this. Lots of Bond throwbacks too.

                • I've been a bit lazy too as I've watched 'Taken 3' - 7/10 - predictable fun with the action moved to LA, 'John Wick' - 8/10 - slick choreographed violence from Keanu Reeves and 'A bridge too far' - 9/10 - a cavalcade of stars and three hours of WW2 movie magic.

I watched Taken 3 the other day, as you said "all very predictable" I hope they don't make another one!

                    • I thought Taken 3 was so much better than 2. They should never have made a sequel though, the first was excellent as it was and didn't need one. That's the problem with Hollywood, just stick to the same old stories and franchises until they are milked dry.

                      • Watched the jackal what an absolute crock of American shite, certain films should be left well alone and no attempt should ever be made to update and remake, the day of the jackal is 1970s cinema at its best taken from and follows a cracking book by Fredrick forsythe . This was just poor . What next remake the godfather !!!!!!!!

                          • Watched John Wick the other week. Not sure if it was meant to be a comedy but mixing in over the top graphic violence was too much for me.

Currently watching Casablanca for the first time!

                              • It isn't worth a spoiler alert to say they kill his dog and steal his car so he single handed wipes out the entire Russian Mafia. I actually think they should have played the comedy a bit more.
