    well i really don't want to cast too much judgement on their social status... But i CAN cast judgment that they won't be a very good person (let alone parent).

    These sorts of things don't do ANYTHING. Smoking in the car vs smoking at home. If you smoke in the car with your kid, you're going to smoke in the house with a kid.

        I personaly don't understand why parents have to smoke in their cars with kids strapped in the back seats
        smoke before making the journey, if the journey is a long drive then stop off somewhere if they are that desperate.

                I think it is quite a sad reflection on parts of society that this needs to be made into law. You would hope that either common sense or paternal/maternal instinct would stop people from smoking with children in the car. Personally I would find it distracting to have a cigar while i drove and my desire to see tomorrow is enough to encourage me to wait half an hour for a smoke.
