Oxycotin is perscribed in moderate doses over here. I have 7 pills of 10mg left over from my 3 root canals and 50 tabs of codeine T3 (30mg of codeine. Strength of 15mg dihydrocodeine). Dihydrocodeine is what you normally use over the seas if I can remember. It was a staple of the UK families of opiates.Originally posted by ValeTudoGuy View PostOxycontin isn't that regularly prescribed here in my experience, Dihydrocodein is much more available but still only given sparingly.
Novocaine is highly controlled. Do you get Lignocaine or Lidocaine Jezza?
I remember a mate of mine who would get 40mg oxycotins for his cluster migraines. But man... he needed those 40mg for his........
Novocaine (procaine), lydocaine, and benzocaine are all available as topical gels. If you want, I can send Mo a few for his teething. But I doubt it'll get to him in time. For my 3 root canals, I would synthesise my own benzocaine and have it in powder form. Then add it to saline and inject it into my gums. It's 100% the most efficient local analgesic available.
Benzocaine synthesis is a common undergraduate reaction to make and not regulated at all. I'm surprised people would go and regulate the -caine derivatives. They have no psychoactive effects and when put in a gel, they can't be used for any illicit activities.

Huh... I can buy 2% injectables for my dogs. Whodda thunkit!?Originally posted by ValeTudoGuy View PostI was under the impression that 2% injectable Xylocaine/Lidocaine/Lignocaine was available over the counter in Canada??? Even with Epinephrine too.
I can't find any injectable human -caine derivatives. They all seem to come in a gel or a spray. If it did come in an injectable dosage, I wouldn't be making my own benzocaine! Perhaps I'll dig around.........

HUH. WHODDA THUNKIT!?!?Originally posted by ValeTudoGuy View Posthttp://shop.bme.com/product/xylo_epi/
For "Boddy Modding"
Mo! Go order a vial right now! Fifty dollars is abhorrent, though. I make a full gramme of benzocaine for under $20. Epinephrine isn't bad...
Good to have on you whenever - never leave home without it.
Now find me a website with pure oxycodone!

Clove oil is the only thing that will treat a buggered tooth. Local anaesthetics will only numb the gum and won't help with pain relief in the slightest. Use clove oiland paracetamol plus ibuprofen. You can't buy injectables (even water for injection) here in the UK. All injectables are PoM : prescription only medicine.

I may be the chemist... But you're definitely the pharmacologist!Originally posted by Stevieboy View PostClove oil is the only thing that will treat a buggered tooth. I normally just numb the area and reinject when I need to. I sit through the pain in the morning and give myself a soft injection at night so I can fall asleep at night. In his case, shouldn't a topical spread on the gums work as well?
A little pain throughout the day never hurt anyone (

What injectable Novacaine? That's mental. No get down the pharmacy and buy a bottle of Anbesol, it's not injectable but it does provide some relief from pain if you use it a lot more than advised. It's Benzocaine.Originally posted by butternutsquashpie View Postcan you not just get dihydrocodeine or oxycodone (oxycotin) with a prescription for your physician?
Also, i can ship you some novacaine if you want. It's available OTC at our local supermarkets.

Hope things are calming down now Mo.? As Steve says clove oil is popular but personally I can't stand it. Paracetamol 1g 4 times daily, with 400mg x 3 times daily is surprisingly effective, without the complications of taking Co-Codamol; which needs to be the 30gm to be particularly effective for dental pain. Don't forget to take Ibuprofen after maels, especiallyif maxing out at 800mgs x3 daily. Hopefully you'll soon be able to manage on Paracetamol & a nocturnal whisky
Didn't the tooth doctor prescribed you any analgesia? They can & should in such circumstances.

Sounds more like a sadist than a dentist MO??!!Originally posted by cigarmo View PostWell I have just got back from the emergency dentist (butcher) who was kind enough to pull out a painful tooth and leave a huge hole in my mouth and bruising to my jaw, because the tooth would not come out, so after trying three different sets of pliers and what looked like a hammer and Chisel, he thought that pulling my jaw may help.
anyhow all i could think of was I will chill out with a nice cigar, no you cant smoke for at least 24 hours.
or eat.
so i am going to buy cigars on line to make things better.
and i have a feeling that when the numb feeling stops its really going to hurt.
Feel for you mon amis

still very painful, taking paracetamol and tramadol which kind of helps. The dentist gave me a leaflet and that was it.Originally posted by Simon Bolivar View PostHope things are calming down now Mo.? As Steve says clove oil is popular but personally I can't stand it.
