As anticipated, the price puts me off tbh. I'm just not ready to drop that ? on a grinder yet.

        Try a hand grinder http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hario-Medium.../dp/B001802PIQ

Get some fresh roasted beans from a local roster or from one of the good online roster I recommend http://ravecoffee.co.uk. They roast and ship the same day

It will let you see that it's worth the effort/money.

I too have a nespresso machine, a DeLonghi Latissima, which is super for making a wide range of drinks, espresso's, latte's, capochino's etc. got a great deal in Debenham's which included 4 tall capochino/latte glasses and ?70 towards the coffee pods.

I have a big old dual drip/espresso machine i barely ever get to use as the other half hates the smell. Generally i stick to a small cafetiere, find it smoother and tastier than my brother's Tassimo or the in-laws-to-be's Nespresso. Honestly apart from the odd espresso I don't really care for the Italian -style coffees, prefer a simple drip or cafetiere.

That's just what I was thinking Sli, and given it'd be my first foray into grinding, it'll be a cost effective way of having a play. Thanks for the earlier links again

This is a Cezve also known as an Ibrik or Briki depending on where in the world you are.

The Turkish, Greek and Arab countries all claim ownership of it.

Yeah, it's stong as F?ck! Bloody brilliant though. You also need a special grind of coffe, it needs to be as fine as talcum powder.

You do she grinds her own on a grinder passed down from her mother looks like something out of a junk shop but works a treat ,
I had to do a couple of days work earlier this year at a rental property and the tenants were eastern Europeans, she made me a coffee in one of those but used course grained coffee, I was relaying the floor and joists in the bathroom and promptly launched it down the bog, bloody disgusting like drinking stewed grit

Was stopping in a hotel in Singapore a couple of weeks back and there was a nespresso machine in the room. First time I had tried it and I'm hooked. Will be my first purchase when I am back in the UK.
