How ow long ago (and for how long) was it that kids could buy 'sweet cigarettes' the little white candy things with a red end.

I remember them - and the little chocolate sticks with rice paper wrappers in fake fag packets. Surely, if the anti-smoking lobby were right, I should be on about 40 Marlboro Reds a day by now...

I agree, this isn't aimed at cutting down, it's just a replacement. Somewhat like methadone.

Actually methadone and all opioid replacement therapy is meant to be done as bridge to abstinence. Problem is there are some folks far too far into addiction for it to work so it's used as a risk reduction strategy of the 'its less harmful than heroin' kind.

Or in the case of almost every single smoker i work with, something to have aswell between fags.... Which they clutch for dear life and never leaves their hand. Their nicotine intake must have more than doubled.
