What an achievement indeed. A true servant to both this country and many others, always demonstrating a sense of duty which is quite an inspiration. (So much better than the alternative that it barely warrants thinking about).

Indeed, three cheers for the Boss (for service personnel), a lifetime of service & no retirement plan! She could well see Charles out, if she survives as long as her mother. Anyway when you consider the other political systems around the world, our royal family has given us stability & is actually cheaper than many other alternatives. And yes those non-direct inline descendants shouldn't get a penny from the state but I hope she indeed carries on to 'long reign over us'!
P.S. She came to welcome me home in '82, which was lucky for Andrew as he got to see her too.2012-02-18_445.jpg2012-02-18_447.jpg2012-02-18_448.jpg

That looks like it could be Princess Anne.... In the blue... Not above the lady in blue....

Correct Emaresee, Princess Anne as she was know then. I was taking the photo Wigan, it was the day the Invincible & Hermes returned to Portsmouth. Don't show Sludgie the last pic, he'll be ordering me to get a haircut, look just like a submariner!

Negative, she was kept out of the way, couldn't afford to lose her, brand spanking new at the time. She was just far enough away for the harriers to be able to play their part.

Aye, I have but the quality isn't that good at 4x6, cheapo camera & very hazy day.
