My Mum, Auntie and Uncle were in NYC at the time.
If it hadn't been for my Uncle waiting for his camera battery to charge, they would have been getting off the tube at the WTC station at the time the first plane met, they were going to be in the audience of the Ricci Lake show that afternoon too.
It was a very hard couple of days for me as it was impossible to make contact with them. Fortunately, they made it home, unlike the circa 3000 people involved in the actual incident.
By coincidence my Cousin (Firefighter) and I are going out for a drink tonight, we'll be raising a glass in memory to all who perished, and another to celebrate the fact our family made it home.
I was in a Vauxhall Frontera passenger seat heading south on the A19 to York that day.
I left my 'trainee' engineer to go do the job while I sat in the loading bay of M&S listening to the news
If I was smoking today I'd gladly take a moment to wish the lives lost on that day: peace. God bless those who lost and sacrificed their lives. In fact god bless those who are losing their lives prematurely across the globe.
Well 9/11 turns out to be an awful day yet again but for different reasons. I'm guessing most of you have heard of the Crane that collapsed inside the holy city of Mecca and killed numerous people their to pay their respects to a God they devoted their lives too.
Rest well anyone who's journey through life is cut short, may your energy return to the great circle and be at peace and at one with the universe.

Ahh that's really nice, yeah it was terrible inshallah they are at peace with Allah..
I just can't help thinking what I thought back then, the US should have done nothing. Instead we went to a senseless revenge rampage throughout the middle east, making more enemies than we ever had before.
3000 people died in NYC. As a retaliation to it, we killed over 100.000! in Iraq which had nothing to do with 9/11.
Take your feelings of that day and try to imagine how people in the middle east felt when their woman and children were killed in retaliation. Only this time not by a small group of fanatics, but by elected governments of the free world.
