I've only owned manuals cars however when abroad i always choose Auto as it is much easier when driving when your on the wrong side of the road

But when i went to the states i was talked in to getting the Ford Explore as a hire car which was a great drive and was auto. Which changed my mind on auto cars and could be something i would consider when choosing our next car.

Most of my cars have been manual and I currently drive a Hyundai Coupe which is OK except it has more blind spots than a fridge. The best driving and most fun car I ever had was an automatic, a Honda Prelude 4wheel steer with normal and sport auto modes. A joy.

I actually like both. Have mostly had manuals thus far, but my current car has an 8-speed automatic and it's delicious to drive.

I only drive automatics. Unfortunately had the manuals taken of my driving license by the DVLA back in 2003.

I love autos, especially the ones they produce now. Apart from my main car I also own a classic mini which is auto. I have two motorbikes which are also automatic.

I drive both on a regular basis. All my vehicles though are manual. The wifes is an automatic. Overall I prefer manual but for a lazy drive an auto is nice sometimes.

Oh Chris, you never cease to make me smile. That's quality.

Me I drive both, my work truck and car are manual at present but I would have preferred an auto car. The deal on the lease was so good that I couldn't pass it up. Auto is great, you have a hand and foot free for more interesting things than fondling a nob.

Don't mind an auto just for getting from A to B but for ragging it along a twisty road you cannae beat a proper manual!

Automatic is nice when your in traffic, but when the gear box goes, in my experience it's a far more expensive box to replace.

I'll stick with manual for now, when I win the lottery I'll buy a Ferrari or such like with a flappy padel gear box

                        Manual vs Automatic

That's a good point, is a flappy paddle dsg a 'proper' manual like a stick shift... F1 have buttons don't they? [emoji848]
