My first comp was the 48k spectrum then the 128k. My favourite games were Manic Miner and Gauntlet.

I still managed to spend a lot of time outdoors - gaming and traditional play are not mutually exclusive!

On another note, videogames can play a valuable role in child development - the right games can teach kids about moral issues, creativity and problem solving.

Personally, the only modern games that have really held my attention in the last decade are GTA V and Skyrim (still playing this, released in 2012) and I'm not a fan of playing online at all.

World of Goo gets a special mention - highly recommended for anyone that likes puzzles/maths/geometry and it works on iOS/Android.

Retrowise - I occasionally enjoy playing 8bit stuff like the original Zelda, Super Mario or Mario Kart on the Wii.

    You're just old.
When you were getting all down with the new 8 bit technology older guys couldn't understand how you'd not get the satisfaction from draughts
My kids never knew life before tablets or the internet. Telling them we had to look up stuff in an encyclopedia or go to the phone box to call friends, makes them look at you weird.

It?s funny... now I don?t really have the patience for modern video games

Don?t get me wrong I know plenty of adult males who should know better but play COD online against children and get beat lol

Tried it but the warm fuzzy nostalgic feeling you get from retro 8bit gaming isn?t there lol

Never really been into computer games. They didn't feature or exist in my formative years. I can remember the first ping pong and space invaders games coming into pubs when I was 17 or 18, two people games set into a glass topped table, then evolving into the pub console game.

I used to play Eye of the Beholder back then. And more recently Neverwinter nights, Dragon Age. Never got on with these kind of things in the arcade.

That game bring back some good.memoroies.

I've also seen some RPi projects where they have created a retro console using all the popular game back in the day.

    I think it's called retroPI
