well you were tutored by one of the best it appears. I think he may still teach out of Reading at Sportfish. Its a bit like riding a bike - you never forget, once you have mastered a fly rod

I once had a days fly fishing... I was tutored by Charles Jardine, who I am assured is pretty good at that sort of stuff. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
I happened to get home before my wife returned from work. she found me sat on the sofa, staring off into the distance thinking deeply about my day.... she simply said 'No more! One in one out... which one are you going to give up??!' this was before we had children and life was pretty busy!!

I can see the appeal, although confess I've not yet picked up a rod again...

Thanks! I might take you up on the fishing invite - I am only around 40 mins from Lechlade.....
Are you going to try and photograph the Superblood Wolf Moon this morning? The last one until 2029 I think....

I make my own flies to 'chuck' as well. Although not so much nowadays. I still have so many flies in my arsenal of boxes that have never seen so much as a puddle, let alone come face to face with a fish - perish the thought

Besides cigars, which has been a relatively recent pastime in the last couple of years, other hobbies include astronomy - but it can get damn cold at night sometimes. Fly fishing - I go fishing occasionally alone, but not so much now, as my main fishing partner is very ill now and can?t fish anymore. My main passion is playing the guitar really badly, I must get some lesssons, and listening to music - an avid audiophile by all accounts. Cigar collecting has certainly taken over from the Hi-Fi now

I?m lucky enough to have spent my professional life with my hobby as my career. First as an actor/singer (West End/Touring), then (and still on occasion) producing/directing productions, mainly on tour and now very happily an artistic consultant, which mainly involves voice/acting coaching. Cigars are a welcome distraction from my main hobby AKA work!

Sweet! I stopped a few years ago when prices shoot up too high but have at least one page of most artists I like.

Satsuma porcelain? There's some very good looking stuff among those. I like those vases a lot!

Satsuma porcelain is just crying out for a pun but I can't think of one at the moment!
