Great choice, I used to have one, eventually sold it for the Hulk. Subs are pretty tricky to get nowadays so well done if from an AD.

Thanks. Actually no, Jan 2020 model from a very, very kind friend who sold it to me for the MSRP he paid for it, not the 3k inflated price he could have flogged it for. He wore it 3 times, it's pristine.

It's funny - I'm in Turkey and everyone wears fake everything, including very convincing rolexes. I presume everyone thinks mine is fake too!

I don't know rolex very well (this is my first) but I searched and the root beer seems surprisingly attainable, comparatively? I thought they were going to be house deposit money.

If you go bi-metal you can pick one up for around 14-16k but full gold or rose gold your looking at 30-40k

That's a great outcome, things have gone crazy since the Brexit vote when Rolexes here overnight became dead cheap to foreigners and demand went thru the roof and due to China, QE, booming Stock and crypto markets, global prices have still not come back down to Earth, also fuelled by this huge Social Media influence which means to me this market will not come down easily unless SM does too, which seems impossible.

The new RG colours of the GMTc are very cool, I had an original YG GMTc a few years back, was my first dream Rolex, and I was utterly thrilled when I finally got one and in those days the price was not unreasonable, I got 25% off a new one so was similar in price to the bi-metal today.

Patek and Padron 64 today, this 5164 has also doubled in value in the hype, I put off buying it for a couple of years as the retail was too high for a simple GMT function, but I bit the bullet at a grand under retail and now ofc retail is cracking value. Looking to pick up a khaki strap for it, will be non OEM as the PP ones have a going rate of £5K for a £200 rubber strap!

Lovely watch the aquanaut, I acutally like the orange strap they do. I imagine these to be very comfy to wear all day. Like a Apple Watch you forget there on your wrist sometimes

I love a nice watch but rarely get to wear one.
I’ve dabbled in Rolex and only stuck to one type- Milgauss.
Both GV but black face first, then the blue.
I love the contrast with green sapphire glass.
