Connery. any other answer is just plain wrong.

When Connery was in the role the films were darker and more interesting, with Moore, whilst still a great character, the films were more akin to a Carry On movie.

Daniel Craig is like comparing a 1970 Mini to a new Mini Cooper BMW style. Same same, but different...

Has to be Sir Sean, especially since neither Basildon nor Brooke made it into the poll.

Anata no kangei Soul  <--- dont think there is a smillie for that lol :P

I said Moore, i don't know why though, because I really think that Sean is the best to be honest. The gf twisted my nipples... eh I mean, ehm... hmmm ACHEM !!! I mean arm ! yeah, twisted my armmm. to say Moore :|

        Ehh haha hmm.

Oh and apparently Daniel Craig shouldn't be in the list because he's only done one film and it takes a hell of a lot to be a James bond than just one film, even though he did play it well. Quote and unQuote

Youngsters today - they just can't count!

I blame the schools (and the parents!).

Still, perhaps we shouldn't count 'Quantum of Solace'. . . after all, it made no sense and the evil villain was only evil because he hoarded water.
          I mean, what's so bad-ass about that!

          As for Daniel Craig. . . . . .. . . purlease!
Put it away blondie, your scaring the kiddies!

Indeed, he did do two films, though the Catman is entirely correct: Q of S was disappointing. However, I did choose Craig because I thought Casino Royale was the first time in which Bond was psychologically interesting in a deep rather than cheeky sense. I will admit, though, that I was born to prefer Roger Moore and do miss his silly one-liners.

              (Bowing low)

I concede the point without reservation, Maestro.

Though I can't help wishing someone else had been given the script.
The sadistic and ruthless undercurrents written into the character (in Casino Royale) would have ideally suited a young Connery.

              As would:

Barman - 'Would Sir prefer his Martini shaken or stirred?'
Bond - 'Do I look like I give a damn?'

still, the fact remains.......... sir roger moore (i LOVE saying that) is the longest serving bond, with the most films under his (powder blue safari suit) belt!!!! 'nuff said!!!!!

also, i read that he was originally considered before connery, only he had other commitments, namely the saint!!!! that sums it up again for me.....

                    1 word makes Connery supreme.

                    Moonraker

OMFG I thought it was bad when I saw it in the cinema, watched it recently on DVD.

Still bad, but has aged so poorly.

Like Live and Let Die though!

are you serious dave??? moonraker is a decent ol' romp!!!! i think time hasn't been kind to any of connery's outings, rendering them unwatchable for me!!! whereas i could watch any of sir roger's anytime!!!!

they all have their merits i guess (except daniel craig, i just don't get why he was picked).......... only sir roger moore has more IMO!!!!

Moonraker is most definitely fun, but one could not say in all seriousness that it is good. It is probably one of the goofiest Bond films ever made.

I figured Connery would take top position, but I'm a bit surprised that Craig is closing in on Moore.

Also have to say Timmy Dalton's outings, which I enjoyed at the time, REALLY look dated.
They look like they were filmed in grime 'o' vision.

Ugh. Moonraker. terrible film cobbled together on the back of the success of Star Wars
I'm still waiting for the whiskey to whisk me away
And I'm still waiting for the ashtray to lead me astray

One could say the same thing about episodes I to III in the Star Wars Saga.

We don't talk about those abominations. It's still too painful.
