My worst birthday 🎂

Went fishing in the morning with an ex Bootie friend, I caught a wee Pike, he caught some decent bait.

However, I had been having epigastric pain for 24htmrs but en-route home it became very severe so I went straight to Bournemouth A&E. Arrived 13:00 & was eventually given Oralmorph, with no real effect. Finally saw a doctor at 22:00 & was admitted to Acute Medical Unit.

Today waiting for a CT Scan to check my gallbladder.

Unfortunately, by coming straight to the hospital, I left my fishing gear in the car, inc some dead fish, in an igloo cooler. So that should be giving off a delicate aroma by now! Got the wife to collect the car this morning & remove the fish. If it actually stops raining, she could leave the windows open a crack.

Apparently, the car doesn't stink noticeably & my wife & drove the XFsportbrake home & removed the dead fish.
I had a CT scan & they confirmed it was an inflamed gallbladder. I had two lots of I.V. antibiotics, to reduced the infection. See the Consultant tomorrow around 10:00

A friend of mine (through basketball) is an EM Consultant at Barnet General. A week ago he said they had 220 patients in the department, with a further 130 odd waiting to be seen. That was at 9am. I know it doesn't seem like it, but they all do an incredible job in trying to get everyone seen as soon as humanly possible 🩺
