  • Are Flavours acceptable?

    Hi
What is the general concensus on flavoured cigars (such as havana honeys chocolate, vanilla & rum) amongst cigar afficionados? is there a place for them? are they frowned upon .
I get kind of get the impression that they are sometimes seen as a novelty item and not taken seriously?

    Anyone got any thoughts?

Flavored tobacco is surely for pipe smokers.

There's definately a place for them because people do buy them! Buy I think your correct in saying / I would imagine that most serious cigar aficionado's would not take them too seriously, I can only imagine that they would be made with inferrior tobacco and maybe even machine made.

But saying that if you like them then that's all that matters, each to their own and all that, personally I wouldn't smoke them ever, if I wanted a chocolate taste then I'd eat chocolate etc etc, but that's whats great about cigars, it's what you like and not what other people say you should like, so if you enjoy smoking them, then smoke away!

Knowing the rich tastes I love from Havanas, I've got no desire at all to have what I'm used to complicated (spoilt) by additional unrelated and random flavours, Boss. I wouldn't go near these things. The idea of them seems bizarre.

          Hola, Senor Jefe Hog,

          TJCoro here,

When I first stated smoking cigars, one of the first I smoked and enjoyed was the Havana Honeys. During that period I tried a few other flavored cigars, but the Havana Honey was my favorite.

I no longer smoke flavored cigars, but still keep a few around. They are perfect to share with non-smokers (guys and gals) who may want to join in on an evening smoke with friends.

Blimey! I'd forgotten about this, it was my first post.

I'm quite partial to the odd havana honey now and again. Not so much as I used too though. Never seen them in the uk but I believe that Thompson cigars online do them. No chance of getting them here though.

Exactly .... if you like them does it matter what anyone else smokes or thinks.
If you want to, you can.

                    It's ALIVE!

Just when you thought you'd have to invent a new imaginary friend, the Mexican makes a triumphant, if somewhat low key (for him), reappearance!

I think they serve a great purpose, particularly for people just "getting into" cigar smoking...and more often than not those people will then go onto smoking "flavourless" cigars....

As long as the person in question enjoys them, its all good!

Awhile back I was talking to 1 of my connections and he stated that flavored cigars (Acid) is the hottest selling cigar in their warehouse. And they are the ND largest distributor in the US. Somebody's burning them !s

Thread necrophilia old boy (check the date), still missing in action I'm afraid.

Last seen wandering the tumbleweed strewn towns along the Rio Bravo, sombrero pulled down over his eyes to shield them from the scorching noon-day sun, unlit stogie clenched between his teeth, forlornly calling out 'Hey, gringo's, bring out your wimmin for TJ, he is tired with playing with his balls'

P.S. How many more imaginary friends do you need?

Don't care much for flavoured cigars because they are made with inferior materials.
