I will go with Sir Geoff's view that we won't know if England got a good score until we see what the diggers get in their first innings.

Nope I stand by my decision entirely, as you recall England were hammered in the first test of the 2005 Ashes and we should have won that series 3-1 (well in theory we should have!)

This is a ridiculous session this morning. Early start today, and what a session of cricket it has been.

How on earth has Anderson not taken a wicket yet this morning? It has to be the best spell to have not picked up a wicket in a very long while...

Devastated that Anderson didn't pick up a wicket after that early spell. It's a shame that Dar bottled the second lbw decision having just got one wrong by mere millimetres...

Very frustrating day

Anderson was superb this morning, but hats off to Hussey and Haddin for hanging in and then making hay.

Gonna take something special to save it from here. Possible but........

England haven't really been at their best in this game and will only improve as the series goes on, so all is not lost by any means.

Juniortubed - your 3-1 prediction does of course mean we were going to lose a test match along the way - maybe this is the one eh???

First night I haven't had the radio on all night and that happens. You can be sure I won't have it on tonight either!!

Mate of mine is there and just texted me that he overheard Sir Geoff leaving the ground saying England did well but against "shite bowling"

Bodes well for the rest of the series if we can get out of this one! The Aussies will be demoralised and we'll know that we don't have too much to fear from the bowling.
